Watch Any Video

Documentation

Watch Any Video is a remote MCP connector. It gives Claude and ChatGPT tools that watch public YouTube videos and answer questions about what is seen and heard, with timestamps. The video is analysed by Google's Gemini model on our servers; nothing is installed on your computer.

Set up

Connector address: https://watchanyvideo.com/api/mcp. You sign in once with an email and password or a Google account.

Tools

All tools are read-only: they read a video or your usage and return text. None of them changes anything.

watch_video (url, question (optional))
Watches a public YouTube video, what is seen and heard, and answers the question with timestamps, or summarises the video if there is no question. Most videos under half an hour answer straight away; longer ones return a job_id.
check_job (job_id)
Returns the answer for a longer video that watch_video is still processing.
ask_video (video_id, question)
Answers a follow-up question about a video already watched, from its timestamped breakdown. It takes a couple of seconds and uses no minutes.
my_usage (none)
Shows which account is signed in, its plan, and the minutes of video used this month.
whoami (none)
Shows which account the connector is signed in with. Useful to check the connection.

Privacy

We don't download or store videos. Your questions and answers are kept for 7 days; written breakdowns of public videos are kept for 30 days without any link to who asked. The connector does not read your conversations, memory or files; it only receives the link and question Claude sends to a tool. Full details: privacy policy.
